I was kidnapped,
from a warm earth
to a damp, metal,
shelf.
I sat there,
Trying to catch
the
attention
of any men who
passed by.
I wasn't very pretty.
I was fragile.
And all I wanted
Was love.
One day,
He held me,
and promised
to take me away
to a loving home.
He gave me away
to a
charming girl.
She put me
In her sunny window
and treated me
like her daughter.
One day,
I heard her scream
and cry.
She threw things
against the wall.
I knew I wasn't safe
but I was trapped
in my prison
of the mahogany pot.
I woke up the next
morning
sideways,
thrown away,
in a pile of trash.
Then I realized.
Love isn't eternal,
We are discarded,
So easily.
